Dec 5 (Reuters) – Visa is moving its European headquarters to London’s Canary Wharf, the Financial Times reported on Friday.

Visa is leasing 300,000 square feet at One Canada Square for a 15-year term, the report said, adding that the firm will lease 11 floors in the building that it is set it to occupy in 2028, the newspaper reported, citing the Canary Wharf Group.

Visa and Canary Wharf Group did not immediately respond to Reuters’ requests for comment.

Canary Wharf has struggled to retain tenants after the COVID-19 pandemic. The area is now enjoying a rebound as more firms push staff to return to the office.

JPMorgan Chase last week unveiled a plan to build a tower in the Canary Wharf financial district contributing 9.9 billion pounds ($13.2 billion) over six years to the local economy – including the cost of construction – and create 7,800 jobs.
